Love

Would you go through a year of obstacles to have a lifetime of bliss with someone? While difficult, yes, it is worth the pain or boredom feeling in the moment. Love is a door that opens for you when you least expect it. It happens when you don’t want it, and there are no guarantees that it will come back if you choose to close it. When it opens and you choose to walk through and experience it, something in your world shifts. There is new meaning. There is another reason to get out of bed. You work harder to get to them sooner. You wish time flew by when you weren’t with them all for you to hope it slows down when you are with them. You make sacrifices for love. You clear your schedule for love. You do anything in your power for them to feel incredibly special.

I don’t think anyone is ever “ready”, but when someone makes you feel truly alive and special, it’s worth the risk. If you believe they have a great heart and a great soul, as good of a heart and soul that you will ever find, don’t ever leave them. Even if you have an argument or fight or there are moments even years that may be tough, go through it. It’s worth the risk. Find perspective of the moment in time.

Nietzche said that “there is always some madness in love and yet there is always some reason within the madness. Love is a kind of disruption. A disruption that fundamentally changes how you conceive of the world and how you conceive of your own happiness.” I believe this ‘disruption’ is very important for us. The change of perspective we get from love is immense. You cannot find love, love is stumbled upon like a treasure you weren't looking for. And when this treasure is stumbled upon, the last thing you would do is keep walking. You see, when something as rare as this comes, you have an opportunity. You can define that moment or let that moment define you. If you choose to define that moment, you take the treasure with you no matter how heavy it may be at times or how tired you get of walking with it. Just when everything tells you to drop it and have an “easier” walk, this is the point where you find the strength within yourself. But why? You see the treasure itself wasn't valuable when it was lost. You didn’t even know about it after all. But when you take the chance that it may have some value, you carry it with you. As you bring it with you in your journey of life it starts becoming more and more valuable. When you bring it around people, you start to be reminded that this treasure you stumbled upon is one of a kind. This treasure becomes a part of you. It becomes something you want to be with no matter the consequences and difficulties it may have. You will find a way and make whatever happen just to have that treasure by your side for as long as you live. The opportunities you can create down the road with this treasure is something that not even your dreams can show you. It’s better. When you stumble upon your treasure, be prepared to carry the ‘difficulties’ with you. The end is worth the heavy walk.

Express love without filter. You are never in the wrong for showing and giving love. It is much greater to live through and with love than to work against it.

This does not only apply to love between people, but also your love for a passion in life. Go after your love and you will never live through regret.
